Traveling with children can often be fun but at times can be quite stressful, especially with younger children, otherwise known as toddlers.

Toddlers have such a short attention span, something like a road trip can be very diffucult for them to handle.

Here are some many ways & things to pack to help make the trip go smoothly.

1. a week before the trip, especially if it is a long one, get a plastic bag, and have the child pick out a few of their very favorite stuffed animals, make sure the child is aware that they are packing for a trip, make a game out of it, for example, say Mr. Bear would like to go away with us, and even help Mr. Bear get his clothes together, this way when it comes down to the day to leave, you can tell the child to go get his little friends as it is time for the trip.

It is always good to have special things from home when you are small.

2. It is also a very good idea to bring along books, and small toys.

Keep these in the trunk of the car to bring out if the child gets bored.

3. Diapers and or pull-ups, nothing is more frustrating than to be traveling or out site seeing and have to run into a Wal-Mart.

I would suggest bringing many extra ones, just in case of accidents.

4. Bring many extra changing of clothes, in case you can't wash: also bring clothes for cold and warm tempatures when traveling, especially for long distances, as you never know how the weather will turn out, and with toddlers they can get their clothes messed up very easy.

5. Bring blankets and pillows from home, even if you are going to stay with family: nothing is more comforting to a young child that to lay down at night with their own pillow and blankets.

This will help make sleeping in a strange place easier.

6. Pack a bag with all of your baby supplies, such as shampoo, bubble bath, wipes, powders, and even medicines that you may need.

This will also save time and money from having to buy these things on the road, especially medicine for a fever, with younger children you never know when they may start running a fever for no reason.

7. Snacks- Always bring plenty of these, if possible keep a cooler on hand and bring extra drinks, I would suggest things such as cookies, crackers, chips.

These things will come on handy to help the child last between meals without frequent stops at restaurants.

8. Don't forget to also bring along some plastic grocery bags: these will come in handy for wet swim suits, and wet or soiled clothes: this will help out quite a bit, especially if you're unable to wash for many days.
